Response: If a collection company cannot validate a debt with any records then they have no legal right to contact you. The first thing you should do anytime a collection company contacts you is to sent them a validation letter which asks them to validate the account they are trying to collect on. With no such validation and continued harassment, you can send a cease and desist letter asking them to stop contacting you. If they continue to harass you with no validation of the account, they are in violation of FDCPA laws and you can file complaints against them.
